Christmas Parade

We went to the Christmas Parade in Auburn back during the first or second week of December. This was Addison first parade ever and she enjoyed the lights and all the different floats. The Auburn cheerleaders and Aubie even made an appearance. Santa was at the end of the parade riding on the Auburn Fire Department truck passing out candy to everyone. We had a good time except for how cold it was that night. We were all bundled up so we would be warm. Here are some pictures from the parade.

Rudolph the reindeer riding on a lawn mower too.
Old-timey cars that Danny thought were cool.

Christmas Pictures

I took Addison to have her Christmas pictures made in her pretty little Christmas dress the other day. That was an exhausting day! We had photo shoot after photo shoot. While we were in town we had to get Addison's Ohbaby Calendar picture made too so we went from one shoot to the next and both Addison and I were exhausted after all the running around and outfit changes! The Christmas pictures took 4 hours from start to finish. I know you are thinking why in the world did it take that long for one child, but there wasn't just one child in the photos. My nieces were getting their pictures taken too and my mom wanted some pictures of all 3 grandchildren. So it took 4 hours to take individual pictures, sibling pictures, and cousin pictures, look and pick out the photos, pay, and recieve our photos. The pictures turned out really good. Here a few of the ones we got of Addison.

First Tooth

Addison got her first tooth at 6 months old which has been about a month ago, but I haven't been able to get a picture until now. This is her first tooth and the second one is coming in now too.

Christmas time is coming!

Can you smell it in the air? Can you hear it in your ears? Can you see it in your eyes? I can and I love this time of year! Christmas time is always exciting for me. I enjoy the lights, the decorations, the traditions, the stories, the candy, and the gift giving.

The stockings are hung, the wreaths are hung, the outside lights and decorations are set out, but no tree is trimmed .. not yet that is! Every year we always get a live Douglas Fir tree and this year the pickings are slim around town. We have not been able to find a tree that we like and I don't know what we are going to do. Hopefully we will be able to find a beautiful, green, 7-8ft Douglas Fir tree to set up in our home. Hope everyone enjoys their holiday season!

It's Raining ... it's not pouring

It has been a rainy day outside today all day long. Looking out the weekend it looks cold, rainy, wet, and yucky and I am thankful that I don't have to get out in this kind of weather. I always dreaded having to go to work in this type of weather and today, I get to stay at home all day.

Speaking of raining ... our months seem to be raining with several plans. We finished up Thanksgiving dinners between both families, have Christmas pictures coming up, Christmas parties to go to, Christmas decorations to set out, shopping for presents, calendar photos for contest to take, dentist and doctor appts. to make, and the list seems to go on and on.

I can not believe that tomorrow is December! These past few months have been flying by so fast. Addison is now 7 months old and always on the go. She is such a happy baby and I am so thankful for that. The Lord has definitely blessed us with a happy miracle. Addison also has several photo shoots schedule for the month. We are getting ready to take Christmas photos and she also will be taking her photo for the Cutest Baby Calendar Contest that she won. Addison's picture will be featured in the November month of the calendar and the calendars will be ready by Christmas. Guess what the family will be getting for their Christmas presents!! Hope everyone is enjoying this rainy day.

We love Aubie!

Yesterday Aubie came to Milestones Learning Center (where I worked before Addison was born) and I decided to take Addison and one of my nieces, Kylee, to go see Aubie. In the previous years I was the one responsible for getting Aubie and the cheerleaders to come and visit for Spirit Week. I was glad to see that they were still able to get Aubie to come. Here are some
pictures of Addison with the Auburn Cheerleaders and Aubie!

Calendar Contest

She made it to the calendar! The Ohbaby! Calendar Contest is over now and the results are in .... Addison is #11 out of 13 babies who will be featured in the calendar! We are so proud of our little cutie!! A big thank you goes to everyone who voted by either donating money for votes or voting for free everyday. Addison will get her picture taken next week by a professional photographer, Kim Box, and then the calendars will be ready in time for Christmas!!

Pumpkin Patch

Our family decided to go to the Pumpkin Patch in LaFayette, Alabama this past Saturday. We went with two other families from church and we all had a great time! I thought this picture of Addison in all the pumpkins was too cute! While at the pumpkin patch we got to ride on a hayride out to the patch where all the pumpkins live. We walked around and found 2 pumpkins to bring home with us. We also got to pet the bunnies and see a goat! The weather was very nice ... not too cold and not too hot and definitely no rain in sight!

This is our family picture that Danny took himself. You can see some of the pumpkins in the patch behind us.

They had several little baby bunnies for us to pet and hold and take pictures with. Don't worry our child never touched the bunnies nor did the bunnies ever touch our child. They were very cute and this made for a cute picture!

This is a picture of all the children who went with us. (L-R) Emma, Addison, Josh, and Anna. They all go to church with us and we really enjoyed hanging out with them at the pumpkin patch. I can't believe we got all the kids to look at the camera at the same time and smile!

This is my little pumpkin holding a bigger pumpkin! Addison did great at the pumpkin patch which I am thankful for because Mommy walked out of the door and forgot the bottle and the pacifier!! Sometimes Mommies do that, but thankfully we did not need it until after we had left the patch and was heading home.

Halloween Costumes

This will be Addison's first Halloween and she is going as a ladybug! She is going to be the cutest little ladybug that you have ever seen. Danny also gets to dress-up for work and he is trying to decide between Indiana Jones or a T-Bird from the movie Grease. Which one do you think he should be?

October ... what a busy month!

Wow! I can't believe it is already October and the month seems like it is just flying by! October always seems to be a busy month. Fall is starting and all the activities that go along with Fall. We have been to football games, birthday celebrations, concerts at the Fair, Fall Festivals, plays, doctors appointments, and Halloween will be coming up soon. We have been going non-stop since the month started and I can't believe that we are halfway through it already. Addison will go for her 6 month check-up on the 19th of this month. I must say she is filling out quite nicely. She has turned into our little chunky monkey instead of our skinny minnie!

Baby Food Update

Addison tried a new baby food this morning. She tried pears and she loved them! We tried bananas first and the texture is so thick. The pears are not so thick in texture and I think that is why Addison liked them! We are working our way through the fruits first and then we will move on to the vegetables!

Cereal and Bananas ... Yum!

This morning for breakfast Addison ate her cereal like she's been doing for several weeks now, but this morning I decided to introduce baby food to her. She had bananas with her cereal this morning. The first bite was a small one and I think she liked it because it was different than the cereal, but as the feeding went on she began making these "sour" and "yucky" faces as if she didn't like the bananas anymore. I took some pictures so you could see her reaction.

Butterflies

I have recently noticed butterflies flying around our house. I'm not just talking about 1 or 2, but several everyday are flying around our house. I then began to notice that there are several cocoons hanging around on the back of our house. I have never seen so many cocoons in one place in my life. I decided to take some pictures of the cocoons. Here are some of them I have spotted.

A few days later I noticed that butterflies were coming out of their cocoons! It was pretty cool to see the butterfly hanging there. I decided to do some research on the whole life cycle of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly and I discovered that butterfly wings are wet when they emerge from their cocoon and they are also deflated. The butterfly has to let it's wings dry and also releases this red dye into it's viens to inflate the wings. Once this process takes place then the butterfly will fly away on it's journey. Here are some pictures of the butterfly once it has come out of the cocoon.

Auburn Football Game

Addison went to her first Auburn Football Game this year. Auburn's season started last Saturday when they played LA Tech and Auburn won! Addison had a great time at the game. She made it to the 3rd quarter, but it was getting late so we left early. We had a great time cheering for the Auburn Tigers to win. The eagle, Nova, flew before kick-off. I posted some pictures from our Auburn Football experience with Addison and other family members below.
